Toowong Hives

Hive 1: Toowong Headquarters
Hive 2: Maroochydore Office

Hutchies’ environmental commitment extends beyond sustainable construction materials and practices.  As part of our responsibility to look after the environment, Hutchies has joined the ‘urban bees’ movement to do its bit to help tackle the serious decline in the world’s bee population. Working with specialist partners like Bee One Third, Hutchies has established beehives on the roofs of our six Queensland offices as well as Hobart, Melbourne and Tweed Heads, and all now have thriving colonies.

We have also relocated a native bee population that was impacted by the Gladstone Coal Exporters Maritime Precinct, and Scott Hutchinson has personally sponsored the production of 10 prototype beehive stands designed by Hive Haven for various Sunshine Coast wildlife facilities and university research departments.
